Latest iPhone 8 Leak Hints at Just Two or Three Color Options

Earlier this summer, the well-connected KGI securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, issued a research note to investors in which he predicted that Apple’s iPhone 8 flagship would be available in “fewer color options” than the company’s traditional palette of iPhone offerings. Unsurprisingly, Kuo’s bold predictions went on to be corroborated in even more recent reports, which suggested that the iPhone 8 could be released in two, all-new ‘Mirrored Glass’ and ‘Blush Gold’ colors — and likely alongside two other, more traditional color options like Jet Black and White.

Well, according to one of the original sources of the ‘Blush Gold’ iPhone 8 rumor, Benjamin Geskin, Apple’s top-tier, thousand-dollar flagship will actually be available in just two or three colors — and a Jet White option probably won’t be among them.

Over the weekend, Geskin posted a series of photos to his official Twitter account, showing what he alleges to be a pair of iPhone 8 SIM card trays. As you can see, he suggests in his Tweet that the card trays could be destined for “Blush” Gold, Silver or Black iPhone models, which he’s able to determine based on the tray’s color-coordinated painting.

To bolster his case, Geskin then posted an additional Tweet in which he contrasted Apple’s Rose Gold, Gold, and upcoming “Blush” Gold color options on a spectrum to show how he narrowed down his findings. Via his exclusive report earlier this year with iDrop News, Geskin was also the first to predict that Apple could coin its top-tier device the ‘iPhone Edition.’

Of course, as with all component leaks, we highly recommend taking these color rumors with a grain of salt until further notice. While we certainly have no reason to doubt Geskin’s or anyone else’s record, it’s nevertheless a good idea to consider rumors like these lightly — even if just to keep our hopes in check.

Fortunately, Apple’s iPhone 8 (and a bunch of other cool new products) are just a few days away from being shown off on stage; and so it’s only a matter of time now until all these rumors are ultimately laid to rest. Be sure to check back with us on Tuesday, September 12th after 10 am PST for full-coverage of Apple’s special event.
