In order to lure customers away from AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile is offering a series of promotions in the US for Black Friday, including one that lets customers trade in an iPhone 6s for a free 32GB iPhone 7 with a data plan. T-Mobile offered a similar deal a few months ago when the iPhone 7 first debuted, which greatly increased their sales.
People with older iPhone models also eligible to trade in their devices for the latest Apple flagship, but they must fork over some cash in addition. For instance, you can trade in your iPhone 6 and pay $100 to get the standard iPhone 7.
The catch is that you have to sign up for a higher tier One or Simple Choice Unlimited Plan. Also, the iPhone 7 you receive in exchange isn’t free right away. Instead the value of that smartphone will be credited to you over a period of 24 months.
Under this promotion, customers can also trade in recent Samsung or LG smartphones in exchange for an iPhone 7, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or the LG V20.
T-Mobile is also discounting accessories like recharging power packs and wireless speakers.
AT&T has a similar promo in the works that gives its DirecTV and U-Verse customers a free iPhone 7, Galaxy S7, LG G5, or LG V20, if they switch plans from a competing carrier.
