Best Buy Is Giving Away Gift Cards with New iPads

Best Buy is offering a new promotion when customers order Apple’s newly unveiled iPad.

The Deal

The retailer is giving away a $25 gift card to each consumer that orders a new iPad, either online or at a brick-and-mortar outlet. As an added bonus, customers that trade-in a working iPad mini 2, mini 3, mini 4, iPad Air or Air 2, or iPad Pro will get a “minimum” $150 Best Buy gift card — although this trade-in offer is only valid in store at select locations, and it ends April 15.

The Catch

There are some caveats, though. Not all products are eligible for this trade-in offer, Best Buy said. The trade-in value of each device varies, and the condition, documentation and accessories included with trade devices can affect that value. Obviously, devices are water-damaged, lack power, or have cracked screens are excluded from this offer. Additionally, consumers are responsible for clearing any data from the devices before they are traded in. Only one trade-in is allowed per customer.

Apple’s new iPad — which replaces the company’s iPad Air 2 — is a definite upgrade over its predecessor, but still manages to be Cupertino’s cheapest tablet yet: a 32-gigabyte, Wi-Fi only model starts at $329.99. Devices with cellular connectivity, on the other hand, are available on 2-year contracts through Best Buy — a 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular Model will only run you $30 more (with a contract) than the Wi-Fi only variant. The retailer also has financing options available for some of the new iPad models — a 32-gigabyte iPad with Wi-Fi and Cellular connectivity could customers around $21.48 a month for 20 months, for example.
