For several months now, we have reported on rumors that Apple would be releasing a trio of new iPads some time this year, including a budget-minded 9.7-inch model, as well as an updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. As of yet, leaks surrounding the new iPad models have been scarce. However, yesterday morning, a Spanish distributor was allegedly sent details about a case for the new, unannounced 10.5-inch model.
The information was announced via Twitter by user Marc Alonso and first spotted by AppleInsider. In the tweet, the prices and dimensions of the case are said to be pending Apple’s official announcement. The tweet contains no information about the iPad device itself, but the attached files claim to be for an “iPad Pro 10.5”, reinforcing the rumor that the 10.5-inch model will indeed be a part of the iPad Pro line.

Rumors surrounding the device, including those put forth by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a near-perfect track record when it comes to predictions surrounding Apple products, suggest that the device will see several “revolutionary” changes, including a vastly redesigned chassis and flexible AMOLED displays.
More recent rumors claim that the 10.5-inch model, although featuring a higher resolution and larger display (by 0.8-inches) than the 9.7-inch model, will be packed into exactly the same chassis size. The new model may feature almost non-existent bezels to accomplish such a feat, allowing users to use the same cases and accessories, including the Smart Cover and Smart Keyboard, that they used for previous 9.7-inch models.
Although it’s possible that the new iPads, including the new 10.5-inch Pro model, may not ship until May or June, many are still expecting Apple to announce the new iPad models some time this month, with some placing the date on Monday, March 20. Alongside the trio of new iPads, other rumors suggest that the March event will also see the release of a new 12-inch MacBook, and possibly even a new iMac and iPhone SE 2, although the latter two seem highly unlikely.
