Samsung’s mid-range smartphones may have flooded the market, but among them the Galaxy J7 has stood out for its affordability and performance. The successor to the 2016 model is slated to be unveiled early next year at the MWC with a tentative launch date set for springtime.
Rumor has it that the next iteration of the J7, which recently received its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications, will feature a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display; while a set of 3D renders along with a 360 degree video were leaked by @OnLeaks, in collaboration with 91 Mobiles, to give us a better idea of what’s up the pipeline.
The visuals confirm the existence of the familiar micro USB port and 3.5-mm headphone jack. They also suggest that the 2017 J7 will feature a physical home button, side-mounted speakers nestled above the power button. The topmost portion of its backside features an accented strip where the flash and camera are housed.
Prior leaks help fill in some remaining blanks, particularly with regard to the forthcoming J7’s internal specs. The 2017 Galaxy J7 will reportedly feature an octa-core Exynos chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 13 MP primary camera, and a 5 MP selfie cam. We also know that the smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat.
As for the price? Information from Zauba, an Indian import tracking company, suggests that the next J7 will retail for around $200.
